Siquijor hosts groundbreaking summit for changemaker wellbeing

Siquijor, renowned for its mystic charm and heritage of traditional healing, will become a sanctuary for changemakers this January as it hosts the inaugural Hearth Philippines Summit. This important gathering is dedicated to the well-being of individuals driving social change—activists, artists, entrepreneurs, caregivers, and students—who often carry the weight of creating a better world.

In partnership with The Wellbeing Project, a global initiative based in Madrid and Paris, the summit aims to highlight the vital link between personal well-being and effective social transformation. Backed by evidence-based research, it underscores the idea that well-being is essential for changemakers to sustain their impactful work.

Siquijor’s deep-rooted traditions in spiritual healing make it an ideal setting for this unique event. Collaborating with the Siquijor Healers Association, the summit integrates healing sessions into its four-day program, providing participants with a rare opportunity to rejuvenate while immersing themselves in the island’s cultural heritage.

This summit is a conference as well as a movement to nurture those who nurture others. Over four days, participants will exchange ideas, build meaningful connections, and explore ways to amplify their impact through self-care and collaboration. By prioritizing wellbeing, the Hearth Philippines Summit hopes to equip changemakers with the resilience they need to continue transforming their communities.

Inspiring voices, memorable experiences

The summit will feature a stellar lineup of speakers, including Julia Ormond, Hollywood actress and former UN Ambassador, who will speak on the intersection of art and social change; Monique Wilson, acclaimed actress and activist, and creative director of One Billion Rising; and Gabbi Pascua, three-time Emmy-winning producer.

Also sharing insights are Annie Ponce, a spiritual healer based in Siquijor, as well as Chef Michelle Adrillana, who will lead a vegan boodle fight dinner on opening night.

Other speakers include former Congresswoman Liza Maza, content creator Buji Babiera, and the siblings behind DIWATA, Chris and Corina Millado, alongside many more changemakers who will share their stories and expertise.

This event is made possible through the support of Pili Ani, Tough Banana, Scarletbox.IO, Keeping it 100 Solutions, Talang Dalisay, and the Communication Arts Network. Visit lunaspilipinas.com to learn more or register for the summit.
