Best Western Plus The Ivy Wall Resort Panglao

As Bohol province recently reopened its tourism industry and its status lowered to Alert Level 2, Best Western Plus The Ivy Wall Resort Panglao celebrated its second anniversary through simple but meaningful events.

Managed by the US-based Best Western Hotels and Resorts group, it is Bohol’s first international-chain resort and fully compliant with environmental and beach conservation guidelines.

The resort was opened months before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, but was shuttered due to the quarantine classifications. (Note: The hotel continues to operate despite the onslaught of Typhoon Odette. It suffered damage only at its beachfront area as the typhoon fell down its iconic pine trees. All its guests and staff are safe, according to its latest advisory. For updates, you may visit the hotel’s Facebook page.)

But despite the limited time it has been operating, The Ivy Wall Resort has made it to the Top 10 percent of hotels worldwide under Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice for 2021, which attests to its warm hospitality and the Filipino brand of service it extends to its guests.

Located at the popular Alona Beach in Panglao Island, the trendy boutique hotel is certified compliant with the Department of Tourism’s health and safety guidelines, as well as the World Travel and Tourism Council’s Safe Travel Protocols.

Named after the ivy vine, the resort beckons travelers to rediscover one of the favorite domestic destinations known for its white sand, dive sites with rich biodiversity, vibrant night life, cultural spots, and exciting watersports recreation.

The 80-room property offers cozy spaces, world-class amenities, and contemporary finishes with thoughtful native hues and designs to evoke a distinct aura of island living.

Alon Bar & Lounge is designed for coffee, cocktails and lazing around.

Guests can hang around Alon, the hotel’s dining outlet which showcases tropical island cuisine created by celebrated chef Sau del Rosario. It is composed of Alon All Day Dining, a full-service restaurant at the beach level where breakfast buffet is served, and Alon Bar & Lounge at the upper ground designed for coffee, cocktails and lazing around.

Swimming pool lovers can feast on light meals and drinks at Agos bar as they dip in the cool waters of the canopied pools.

Moreover, visitors can hang around at the Teraza, a view deck bar and lounge on the third level which overlooks the pool and affords a spectacular view of the beach by sunset. A comfy physically distanced al fresco food and beverage outlet, it is also ideal for after-dinner cravings, drinks and small talk with friends under the stars.

Other hotel facilities for a consummate business or leisure stay include a business center, Fiora Spa, a fitness center, a game room, and function rooms.

As a new stakeholder in Bohol’s tourism industry, The Ivy Wall Resort has taken part in the province’s community activities, which include the annual International Coastal Cleanup held locally at Alona Beach.

It also takes pride in having a 100-percent vaccinated workforce and a recipient of the PIVAC Safety Seal from the municipal government of Panglao.
