Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, the newest property of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC), ushered in the holiday season with its first Christmas tree lighting ceremony, as well as the opening of its art gallery exhibition at Art Cove, which also marked the welcoming of the vibrant upper midscale hotel in the City of Smiles.

“The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod [is] another milestone in SMHCC’s history as it offers Bacolodnons the first internationally branded hotel in the City of Smiles. As such, SMHCC solidifies its pursuit to further strengthen its brand portfolio and take hospitality to a notch higher,” said Peggy E. Angeles, executive vice president (EVP) of SMHCC.

The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod also coincided with the inauguration of the first-ever exhibition at Art Cove, the hotel’s mini art gallery. The exhibit features the works of photographer Christina Bautista with the title “Images of Negros” and artist Joan Horidez’s “Tale of Marapara.”

“Art Cove is a reflection of the combined love for the arts shared by the locals of this region and by the SM Group. Through Art Cove, we wish to help the province cultivate and nurture more talents by serving as an avenue to showcase Negrosnanon art to travelers and amplify the art tourism in the province,” said Sherwin Lucas, general manager (GM) of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.

After the inaugural exhibit program, guests were led to the Marapara Plaza (Pool Deck) located at the 2nd level of the hotel to unveil the marker of the biggest mural in Negros followed by the Christmas launch program. A string ensemble welcomed the guests with classical tunes as they settled in for the evening festivities. Mayor Bing Leonardia and City Administrator Atty. Edward Cuansing graced the occasion.

The Christmas launch featured musical performances from the De La Salle Chorale Bacolod and singer/host and commercial model Vien King.

To further keep the spirit of Christmas alive and to strengthen the hotel’s corporate social responsibility program, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod partnered with Kalipay Negrense Bacolod. A part of the hotel’s holiday hampers sales will be given to the foundation to support the basic needs of recovered treasures, a home for disadvantaged children.

The Christmas tree lighting ceremony was led by Angeles, Lucas, and Cuansing.

The hotel prepared unique, locally inspired cocktails with desserts that speak of the holidays to celebrate the festive season with more excitement.
