* ‘By Request’ concert at Music Museum on August 16 

This Friday (August 16), it’s all about the music at the Music Museum—from classic OPM hits to original compositions—with a concert called “By Request: Your Playlist Live Onstage.” Headlining the show are three remarkable artists—Dessa, Troy Laureta, and DK Tijam—which promises to take the audience to a one-night-only event that is a celebration of Filipino music. Other performers during the show include Kayleigh Cerezo, Keeana Cerezo, Antoinette Targa, Chelsea Star, Bella Magbag of DK Talents. Destiny Palisoc will perform as the front act. The show is a chance to witness the magic that happens when true artists come together to share their love for music. It’s not just about the performance—it’s about the connection between the artists and the audience, a reminder of why OPM continues to move people.

* Cebu Pacific boosts Clark hub; adds more flights from Davao

Cebu Pacific is making travel more accessible with exciting new routes. Starting October 21, 2024, the airline will launch daily flights between Clark and Tagbilaran, Bohol, further strengthening its Clark hub and providing more travel options for those in north and central Luzon. Also in October, the airline will expand its network from Davao, reopening international routes and adding more domestic flights. Travelers from Davao can now easily fly to Bangkok, enjoying the city’s vibrant nightlife, cultural heritage, and famous cuisine. Domestically, Davaoeños can explore the white sands of Boracay, the natural beauty of Puerto Princesa, or the urban charm of Tacloban with direct flights from Davao. These new routes make it easier and more affordable for Filipinos to explore both local and international destinations.

* Maya extends support to customers impacted by Typhoon Carina

Maya, a leading digital bank in the Philippines, is offering a payment grace period to borrowers affected by Typhoon Carina. Selected borrowers of Maya Easy Credit, Maya Personal Loan, and Maya Negosyo Loan will not face late payment fees until August 15, 2024. This initiative covers areas heavily impacted by the typhoon. Maya is also facilitating donations for relief efforts through QR code payments, supporting organizations like the Philippine Red Cross and UNICEF. 

* Red Bull Dance Your Style Manila qualifiers

The Red Bull Dance Your Style Manila Qualifiers showcased Luzon’s top dance talents at Octopus in Makati on July 27. Klockwise (Kenneth Martinez) emerged victorious with his flawless moves, while Kid Magnus (Flourence Lavesores) and Japanese dancer Tatai also made it to the top. The qualifiers included fierce battles from Cebu, Davao, and Manila. The National Finals on September 28 will determine who will represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in India.
