This month of June is Philippine Environment Month.

As part of the celebration, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau Calabarzon Region is holding “LET IT GROW” Online Photo Contest with the aim of helping heal nature by planting and growing seedlings at home.

Participants are encouraged to document the growth of their plants by taking photos of them daily from day one until June 30, 2020.

The contest is nationwide. All interested individuals are encouraged to join.

To join “LET IT GROW” online photo contest, you must first like the bureau’s Facebook Page at

You may submit your filled out registration form together with a photo of your seeds labeled with the type of plant to until June 12, 2020.

For the planting of plants, the bureau encourages the use of recyclable or biodegradable materials as pots and compost.

Lastly, document your daily plant activities and compile your photo entries from day one. Choose at least 10 photos with visible change/growth and submit the photos on June 30, 2020.

All photos must have the same angle or point of view, be clear or be high resolution so that it will be easy to identify the plant and the progress of its growth.

Unedited photos shall be attached to the email. Photos must be originally yours. Out-sourced photos, stock photos, photos of other people’s plants, and the like shall not be accepted, and the entry will be automatically disqualified.

Only one entry per Facebook account is allowed.

Winning entries shall be given the following prizes: P10,000 for the 1st prize winner, P8,000 2nd prize winner, P6,000 3rd prize winner, P4,000 4th prize winner, P2,000 5th prize winner. Five consolation prize winners will get P1,000 each.

Criteria for judging include creativity in the use of recycled materials (40%), visual appeal (20%), level of detail (20%), inspirational power (10%), and expression of the theme (10%).

Announcement of winners will be on July 6, 2020.
