The Legazpi Active Park is a privately owned public space and pocket park in the Makati Central Business District (CBD) in Metro Manila. Located in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, the park is popular because of its location (adjacent to luxurious condominium units, malls, and important establishments).
It is also known for the weekend market it hosts every Sunday aptly called the Legazpi Sunday Market where local entrepreneurs get to showcase their products—anything from food to plants. It’s a weekly fair worth checking out.
As its name suggests, the Legazpi Active Park is the counterpart of the more “passive” Washington SyCip Park, which sits right beside the former. The two are practically twin parks.
The Legazpi Active Park is ideal for outdoor activities such as calisthenics, yoga, jogging, playing badminton, or simply playing with the cats that seemed to have called the park their home.

Its name is in reference to its location along Legazpi Street within the former Legazpi gated village. The latter has since been merged with the neighboring San Lorenzo gated village, which formed the barangay of San Lorenzo.
The Legazpi Active Park isn’t partiuclarly that big (it measures 0.75 hectares), but it is managed very well. This means the park is always clean, safe, the ambience relaxing, and the crowd of people who go there pleasant.
Bounded by Rufino and Legazpi streets to the north, Rada Street to the east, Salcedo Street to the west, and Gamboa Street to the south, the park is just a 5-minute walk away from Greenbelt, and just about the same time to Makati Medical Center.

Just like any other park, the place is equipped with park benches, tiled walkways, and jogging paths. But what it does have that other parks in Makati don’t is a children’s playground (though it’s temporarily closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19). It also has an amphitheater, and a dedicated activity area and plaza.
Pro tip: There are restrooms in the park, though they were always locked during the multiple times we visited since the start of the pandemic. So be guided accordingly.
