For those looking to escape the noise of the city and immerse themselves in a soothing environment surrounded by nature, Luljetta’s Place offers an ideal getaway. Whether it’s the cool shade provided by huge trees, a relaxing dip in the infinity pool, or the nurturing touch of the spa’s massage therapists, every aspect of this resort aims to restore balance to both body and soul.

Just about an hour away from Metro Manila on a good day, Luljetta’s Place in Antipolo, Rizal, spans over eight hectares, with spectacular views of Laguna Lake and the distant skyline of the metro.

“Luljetta’s Place is a destination where people can reconnect with themselves and nature,” said Ramon Marinas, the marketing director of Luljetta’s Place. “We want to give our guests an unforgettable experience with the warmth of Filipino hospitality at its core.”

The resort offers three distinct sections, each offering a unique experience for different types of travelers. The Garden Suites provide a peaceful overnight retreat amidst lush greenery, while the Mykonos Suites add a touch of Mediterranean charm with Greek-inspired architecture. The Hanging Gardens Spa, on the other hand, is the ultimate spot for relaxation, offering spa services that put the body and mind at ease.

The gardens are adorned with lush greenery, creating a beautiful and relaxing ambiance. Its natural beauty enhances the feeling of serenity, making it the perfect spot for meditation or simply taking in the view.

Located within the resort’s cliffside, the Hanging Gardens Spa’s signature massage, which costs only P750 for a generous 75 minutes, is a major draw for the resort. “Our masseuse, many of whom are mothers from the local community, provide a ‘motherly touch’ to each session,” said Marinas.

The spa itself is a hidden paradise, with infinity pools overlooking the Sierra Madre mountains and heated jacuzzis that allow you to soak away your stress. For those looking for something a little more quirky, there’s even a Dr. Fish pool where tiny fish nibble away at your feet’s dead skin cells, leaving them smooth and refreshed.

“We focus on wellness, sustainability, and the natural beauty around us,” Marinas said. “We’ve kept the land as natural as possible, incorporating large trees that were planted by my parents and grandparents. That’s why even on the hottest days, our resort stays cool and refreshing.”

A taste of local flavors

Luljetta’s Place isn’t just a feast for the eyes, though. It also offers a taste of local flavors. A must-try dish is the resort’s signature dessert, the sumaka. The name is a playful acronym for suman (sticky rice), mango, and kasoy (cashew), all traditional Antipolo specialties.

“Our sumaka combines these local ingredients into a delightful treat,” he said. “We fry the suman to give it a crispy texture, top it with fresh mango slices, and drizzle a rich coconut sauce mixed with roasted cashews.”

The resort’s history as a mango and cashew plantation back in the 1970s adds a deeper connection to this dish. “This property used to be covered in mango and cashew trees, which is why we wanted to honor that legacy with the sumaka,” Marinas said.

Of course, the resort wouldn’t be complete without its dedicated team of staff who embody Filipino hospitality. “Every guest is greeted with a warm ‘mabuhay’—a gesture [which includes placing the right hand over the heart and bowing a little] that reflects the hospitality we’re known for.”

As Luljetta’s Place continues to evolve, it never loses sight of its core philosophy: creating a space where guests can recharge and reconnect with nature. Whether you’re craving some quiet time or a rejuvenating spa experience, Luljetta’s Place delivers a perfect balance of nature, relaxation, and Filipino hospitality.
