Cebu Pacific has officially relaunched its direct flights from Manila to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, marking an important milestone for travelers eager to explore new destinations or revisit old favorites.

The launch, held at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on August 16, 2024, was a festive occasion, attended by key figures in the transportation and aviation sectors, including Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Civil Aeronautics Board Executive Director Atty. Carmelo Arcilla, and representatives from the Manila International Airport Authority and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO).

More than just a ceremonial relaunch, the event was a symbol of renewed connections between the Philippines and Taiwan, a bridge to fresh adventures and cultural exchanges. During the launch, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Michael Shau, said they are proud to help in “reigniting the spirit of exploration.”

“Kaohsiung is a vibrant city waiting to be rediscovered, and we’re thrilled to be part of that journey,” he said.

For Filipinos who have already explored the bustling streets of Taipei or those looking to experience Taiwan for the first time, Kaohsiung presents an ideal destination. This southern port city offers a different side of Taiwan, one that marries modern attractions with rich cultural heritage. From the serene beauty of the Lotus Pond and the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas to the artistic charm of the Pier-2 Art Center, Kaohsiung is a city that invites exploration.

“It’s the perfect time for Filipinos to discover—or rediscover—Kaohsiung,” said Secretary Jaime Bautista.

For those who have been to Taiwan but only visited Taipei, now is the time to venture beyond the capital and explore the southern gem of Kaohsiung. The city’s less crowded streets, relaxed atmosphere, and array of unique attractions make it a must-visit destination.

Thrice-weekly flights

Cebu Pacific made sure that passengers on the inaugural flight got a preview of the delights awaiting them in Kaohsiung. Before boarding, passengers were treated to samples of Taiwanese cuisine, giving them a taste of what to expect when they arrive. In addition, they received souvenirs from Taiwan Tourism and TECO, making their journey even more memorable.

“This is more than just a flight—it’s an experience. Cebu Pacific is not just taking you to your destination. They are bringing you closer to the culture, the people, and the unique experiences that await in Kaohsiung,” said Arcilla.

Cebu Pacific’s Manila-Kaohsiung flights will operate three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, offering travelers flexible options for their trips. Whether you’re planning a quick getaway or an extended stay, these convenient schedules make it easier to explore everything Kaohsiung has to offer.

This promotional fare is available for travel from August 16, 2024, to January 31, 2025, providing ample time for travelers to plan their visit.
