Discovery Shores Boracay (DSB), a luxury resort owned by Discovery World Corporation (DWC), took home a prestigious award at the recently concluded International Hotel Awards.
Garnering a spot amongst the recipients of the Asia Pacific Hotel Award, DSB (managed by Discovery Hospitality Corporation) was named a “Highly Commendable Luxury Hotel.” This award is one of the most acclaimed industry recognitions throughout the region, and is a world-renowned mark of excellence in the hospitality sector.
The “International Hotel Awards” program is judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts, whose criteria focus on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.
“We are immensely proud of our team at Discovery Shores Boracay for their unwavering excellence and commitment to genuine Filipino hospitality,” said DHC COO and DWC President Jose C. Parreño, Jr. “Despite the challenges the travel industry has had to face this year, we are thankful for this honor and celebrate with our beloved guests and colleagues who made this win possible.”
Earlier this year, Discovery Shores Boracay was also a winner of DestinAsian Magazine’s 2020 Reader’s Choice Awards, Agoda’s 2020 Customer Review Award, and Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2020.
Managing five of the country’s well-loved homegrown brands, DHC has recently opened the doors for businesses interested in working with its team of experts and thought leaders with its complete suite of shared services covering food & beverage, IT, digital marketing, human resources, strategy, sales & revenue, finance, and operational management departments in different industries.
In other news about Discovery Shores Boracay, it recently tapped Filipino fashion designer, Avel Bacudio, to create its staffers’ very own bespoke personal protective gears in an effort to keep its guests and crew members safe from COVID-19.
The Avel x Discovery Resorts Face Mask is made of a combination of cotton spandex and polyester, which filter droplets and aerosols, as claimed by a team of researchers in the US. The Avel x Discovery Resorts Apron, meanwhile, is made of anti-static microfiber and polyester.
