(First of two parts)
A getaway in style, that’s how we felt during our visit to a picturesque European-inspired hotel in Tagaytay. The road from the highway going down to the hotel’s driveway stirs much anticipation and excitement. And a glimpse of the fabulous front view of Twin Lakes Hotel alone didn’t disappoint.
The eight-level building oozes with elegance, superiority and luxury. It suggests an out of the country feel while at home as some liken the place to Napa Valley in Northern California.
Its spacious lobby is furnished with stylish tables and chairs and the voluminous bar is just waiting for visitors to come and sit, relax and sip some cocktails or wine.
The palatial structure boasts of 126 rooms with balconies. We were fortunate enough to stay in 106-sq.m. two-bedroom suite with a living room and three balconies with different sets of tables and chairs for each balcony. Getting inside our suite was such a delight. We were greeted by a welcome cake, a bottle of red wine and a fruit platter. We even received two cute teddy bears wearing blue shirts with the name of the hotel printed on them.
Eager to inspect everything in the suite, especially the bedrooms, we learned that one bedroom contains a king size bed, a large table, and a roomy bath area with a bathtub. The other one has twin beds with its own bathroom and a bathtub too. The living room has its own comfort room as well. In addition, toiletries for each bathroom are very much complete too.
Surveying the three balconies brought us to another level of excitement. Each balcony gives a different closer view angle of the lush scenery of the outer back side of the hotel. Our suite, which is found at the top level of the eight-storey structure, gives us the best view of the hotel’s 126 rooms with their balconies. Sometimes, we would even see other guests hanging out in their own respective balconies. Below is the sight of the heated outdoor infinity pool where a lot of children and guests enjoy swimming. Restrictions for children to be outside their homes during the pandemic have already been lifted so parents are excited to bring them out and experience outdoor activities again. (Note: The visit to the Twin Lakes Hotel was made by the author before the NCR, and the provinces of Cavite, Bulacan and Rizal were placed under Alert Level 3). As we overlook the tranquil Tagaytay landscape from our balcony, the same view can also be enjoyed at the pool.
Twin Lakes Hotel features a conference hall that can be divided into three separate rooms. Each section features a projector with a screen, Wi-Fi access, and outlets for devices. It also houses a 266-sq.m. grand ballroom that could accommodate up to 500 people. It’s ideal for wedding receptions, debuts, and other large gatherings. And there are still many things to discover at the backyard of the hotel.
