SMX Bacolod marks 10 years with ‘Salamat Guid,’ partners with Park Inn by Radisson

SMX Bacolod, the largest indoor event venue in Bacolod City, celebrated a decade of excellence through “Salamat Guid: A Festival of Milestones in the City of Smiles.”

This milestone event also officially introduced Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod as SMX’s exclusive catering partner, setting the stage for a strengthened collaboration aimed at positioning Bacolod as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), as well as grand celebrations.

Over 350 guests, including government officials, loyal clients, and members of the regional media, attended the festive affair. The evening began with a captivating performance by the Domingo Lacson National High School Rondalla and featured a Filipino-themed grazing table and coffee station curated by Park Inn.

The highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of SMX Bacolod’s expansive dining hall, transformed into four themed setups: Children’s Party, Debut, Wedding, and MICE events. Each scene featured lively dance performances and matching décor, showcasing the venue’s flexibility for various occasions.

Key speakers underscored the significance of SMX Bacolod in the city’s growth. Walid Wafik, senior vice president for operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp, and Sherwin Lucas, area general manager of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod and Iloilo, emphasized the collaboration’s potential to further elevate client experiences.

“SMX Bacolod is integral to Bacolod’s growth as an emerging MICE and celebrations hub,” said  Michael Albaña, vice president-general manager of SMX Convention Center.

Attendees enjoyed an impressive dining experience, with themed food stations offering everything from kid-friendly treats to gourmet dishes, alongside carving stations, food carts, and a mobile bar serving unlimited cocktails.

Located within SM City Bacolod and directly connected to Park Inn by Radisson, SMX Bacolod offers 4,629 square meters of versatile event space. With notable past events like Miss Universe Philippines–Negros and concerts by Air Supply, the venue continues to shape Bacolod’s identity as a rising MICE and entertainment hub. This partnership promises to boost the city’s appeal, placing it firmly on the national stage for important events.
