One of the more popular cooking workshops is done by The Maya Kitchen (TMK), which has cooking and baking lessons scheduled for this month of February. To provide consumers an opportunity to learn how to cook and bake right in the comforts of their homes, The Maya Kitchen workshops will be done virtual—classes will be conducted live via Zoom.
The Maya Kitchen kicks off its February lineup with the Cookies and Bars Class on February 10 at 10 am-12nn, which will inspire participants to jumpstart their baking journey. At this workshop, you will learn how to make Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies and Ube Three Cheese Bars. These are easy-to-learn recipes that will surely spark your creativity in baking. Family Valentine’s Cooking & Baking Class is scheduled on February 13 at 1-3pm. For only Php2,500, you and your loved ones at home can bond in the kitchen and learn quick and easy recipes that everyone will love. Kids are welcome to join. If you’re looking for a family-friendly activity for Valentine’s Day, this one’s a perfect pick.
Learning the proper way of using a knife in the kitchen is a must not only to make cooking preps easier, but safer too. If you’re spending more and more time in the kitchen, you should make time to sharpen up your knife skills. The Maya Kitchen’s Knife Skills Class is on February 17 at 1-3pm. At this workshop, participants will be introduced to different types of knives and their specific uses and learn how to handle them properly. They will also get to practice how to chop, dice, and slice. As a bonus, they will also cook stir-fried noodles and vegetables—all for a workshop fee of Php2,000.
Up your baking skills by signing up for the Basic Cakes Class on February 20 at 1-3pm. As part of the Baking for Beginners Class Series, this workshop will tackle basic baking know-how such as baking ingredients and proper measurement techniques so you can bake with confidence every single time. Workshops done via Zoom class allow participants can improve your kitchen skills with the expert guidance of a chef instructor, who will provide step-by-step coaching for every recipe that will be cooked or baked.
After registration for a virtual workshop, participants will receive a course outline, a recipe card, and a preparation sheet complete with a shopping list, a rundown of required equipment, and some set-up tips for Zoom technology.
During the class, the chef instructor will walk the participants through the recipe steps and cook or bake along with you, answering any questions a participant may have.
A participant can attend the class on his or her own, as a pair, or as a big group, but only one device will be allowed to dial in.
All classes are designed for adults unless stated otherwise. Students below 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult to join a workshop.
