We’re going on a limb here by saying that the Tugawe Cove Resort is the most beautiful resort in Caramoan, Camarines Sur in Bicol.
There are just so many things to like about it—the lush greenery that feature prominently throughout the resort, the bluest of waters and the relaxing sound of crashing waves, and the gentle touch of the sea breeze that never seems to let up whatever time of the day it is. The towering limestone karsts are a sight to behold.

Tugawe Cove Resort is located near the tip of the Caramoan Peninsula. As the only 4-star hotel in Caramoan, the resort offers a unique experience. Tugawe Cove Resort prides itself with its “personalized brand of service,” which promises to make guests forget about their worries and focus on having a good time.
For the most part, the resort delivered on this lofty promise. Before the lockdown restrictions were put in place, we were able to visit as a family.
In fact, we were there for a family reunion from my father’s side, so there were at least 30 of us. The resort was definitely big enough to accommodate all of us—and then some.
There was no shortage of things to do in the resort. Swimming (in the infinity pool and the beach) was obviously the main recreation for everyone, but there was also a game room with billiards table, air hockey, and foosball that kept us entertained.

During our stay there, we also arranged for a hike to a nearby lighthouse, which was a nice way to get some exercise in, while giving us yet another view of the surrounding blue water. Guests can also book several other resort activities such as beach-hopping, birdwatching, firefly watching, and bio-luminescent plankton watching
While the food isn’t something I’d look forward to the next time I visit, the grilled chicken and laing were above average.
Surrounded by greenery, rooms in Tugawe Cove is a close encounter with nature. It’s quiet and calm—the only thing you’ll hear are the chirping of birds, the sound of waves, and the rustling of tree leaves. Sights of fireflies are all too common.

There are 23 cabanas in the resort. Each room is strategically placed in different areas of the resort to provide a sense of exclusivity and privacy. There are rooms that are closer to the sea and lake (Lakeside rooms), while there are ones located a little higher in the area (Hillside rooms). Then there are rooms (Hilltop rooms) that provide a sweeping picturesque view of the sea.
Unfortunately, Tugawe Cove Resort has temporarily limited its operations because of the continuing surge of COVID-19 cases in the area (and around the country). At the moment, the resort only accommodates guests from within the Camarines Sur province. As expected, the resort is implementing strict safety protocols, so its Facebook Page reminds guests to ensure they have needed documents for traveling.
