For the third year in a row, the city government of Manila has launched the “MayniLove” fair at the Mehan Garden in Ermita. The event is meant to give couples an inexpensive venue to celebrate Valentine’s Day, as well as help small businesses that had set up booths and kiosks at the fair.

Launched on February 6 and running until February 17 (4 p.m. to 11 p.m.), lovers have two weeks to sample the good stuff that awaits them in the fair, including live performances, Instagram-ready spots, and daily giveaways such as food and gift items, flowers, chocolates, and stuffed toys.

Visitors may find themselves having a candlelit dining experience without breaking the bank. Organizers say there will even be companies that will offer jobs and hire individuals on the spot.

Over 30 small and medium enterprises would showcase their respective products at the annual “MayniLove” fair, whose entrance is free of charge to everyone. Organizers are also quick to state that the fair is not only for lovers but also for friends and family, who just want to enjoy some downtime.

Hundreds of paw-rents are also expected to come and bring their fur babies to experience “Puppy Love.” Dog owners could leave their pets in a playpen while they roam around the venue. Individuals who may not have their own dog yet may find their fur babies in one of the booths, as puppies would also be sold.

With the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions easing up, more people are expected to show up this year compared to the last two stagings of the event.

The Manila government organized the event through the Bureau of Permits and the city’s economic development and investment promotions office.
