Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the availability of “Distancing Seats” as an option in all of its flights starting July 1.
According to the airline, the introduction of “Distancing Seats” is to provide its clients with the needed peace of mind, particularly during this period of pandemic.
Since the general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) were already imposed on many areas in the country, airline companies have resumed their flights, though limited, with many already resuming routes to domestic destinations. PAL resumed both its domestic and international flights.
How can you get PAL’s “Distancing Seats”? “Passengers who booked Premium Economy Class and Economy Flex fare will be eligible to reserve a guaranteed empty seat beside them in designated rows of the cabin,” according to PAL’s website.
You may choose a Distancing Seat if you book in PAL’s Premium Economy Class or in an Economy Flex fare for all PAL and PALex flights starting on July 1.
For the “Distancing Seats,” you may book through PAL’s website or mobile app, by calling PAL’s hotline, by visiting any PAL Ticket Office, or by contacting your travel agent starting June 16.
How does “Distancing Seats” work at PAL’s aircraft? In the Distancing Section of the aircraft, an aisle or middle seat will be left empty in defined rows.
Regular Seats: Choose to be seated in our section where Distancing will be observed depending on space availability. This option is ideal for groups who wish to be seated together.
Reserving a seat in advance gives passengers the comfort of being seated with their travel companions and in their preferred location within their designated cabin class. Seat assignments, however, may be changed for operational, safety, or legal requirements.
All PAL aircraft will have “Distancing Seats” on Premium Economy and Economy Class Cabin Sections.
PAL’s Economy Cabin Class will have a mix of regular and Distancing Seats, while its Premium Economy Class will have purely Distancing Seats only.
