Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu to reopen on August 1

Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu is ready to brave the future and welcome everyone back to the island of blue skies and clear waters as it reopens on August 1 with the same level of service, now complemented by advanced solutions and preventive measures that would provide guests “peace of mind.”

There is no room for worry in the hotel, with regular disinfectant protocols using the latest UV-C light technology, revolutionary electrostatic sprayers, hospital-grade disinfectant solutions, and sanitizing systems.

Health screening is required for both the guests and staff. Arriving guests have to present a clearance from the accredited Gold Standard testing center at the Mactan Cebu International Airport, as a pre-requisite for check-in.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided to the staff. Those in guest-facing roles are provided face shields.

The vibrant energy of the resort can be experienced at this well-loved destination known for its world-class service.

To certify optimum well-being, the service staff will be housed in a dedicated wing within the hotel complex and undergo COVID-19 testing, conducted by a medical team, whenever they return to work from their time off.

Digital and smart tech solutions are utilized, from online registration and advance check-in to menu selection and distribution of information. The hotel encourages contactless transactions and service procedures.

All on-site menus are modified for individual serving. Chairs and tables are set apart and advance reservations are required to ensure social distancing. Cebu residents can enjoy signature dishes in the comforts of their home or office by ordering for pick-up or delivery.

The hotel continues to promote strict compliance with globally recognized protocols and government regulations on health, safety, sanitation, physical distancing, and local coordination. Guidelines set by the Department of Tourism (DOT) are also followed, from welcoming guests at the airport to accommodating them until check-out.

The hotel already received the Certificate of Authority to Operate, given by the DOT. Furthermore, it also received certification from Accor as an ALLSAFE property.

Awareness and wellness campaigns are continually rolled out among the staff. The team follows mandatory workplace protocols—from the moment they step in the hotel, move in their areas of assignment, and when they end their shift. There is also a guide for suppliers, partners and clients, to keep everyone attuned to the enhanced safety and preventive measures of the hotel.
